Partner Named to Northern California Super Lawyers 2011 Rising Stars
SAN FRANCISCO, July 14, 2011 – Pillsbury & Coleman LLP, a San Francisco law firm dedicated to representing policyholders in insurance coverage disputes and bad faith litigation, announces that Founding Philip Pillsbury and Partner Terence Coleman have been named to the Northern California Super Lawyers 2011Edition. In addition, Partner Vedica Puri was named to the Northern California Super Lawyers 2011 Edition – Rising Stars.
Super Lawyers is a listing of outstanding lawyers, from more than 70 practice areas, who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The objective of the Super Lawyers selection process is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource to assist in the search for legal counsel. Approximately five percent of the Northern California Bar received the distinction.
Recognizing the top up-and-coming attorneys in the region, the selection process for Rising Stars is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process except that attorneys must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for ten years or less. Approximately two percent of the Northern California Bar received this distinction.
Named to the Northern California Super Lawyers every year since its inception, Pillsbury represents small and large domestic and international companies and individuals. With more than 30 years of trial experience, Pillsbury’s practice focuses on insurance bad faith and insurance coverage matters ranging from commercial general liability and property/business interruption to errors and omission and maritime insurance. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College (1976) and his A.B. from Middlebury College (1973).
Coleman represents policyholders in insurance bad faith and insurance coverage matters. He is a member of the State Board of California, Consumer Attorneys of California and the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association. Coleman earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of San Francisco Law School (1994) and his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley (1991).
An experienced trial attorney focused exclusively on bad faith insurance coverage claims, Puri represents businesses, property owners and professionals, consistently delivering successful results on highly complex cases. With substantive expertise in insurance coverage claims and bad faith suits, Puri has achieved combined settlements and verdicts of more than $15 million. She earned her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law and her B.A. from St. Xavier University in Bombay, India with a First Class distinction.
